The short version

Kol Emunah is a Torah audio library. You can listen without an account and without telling us who you are. If you make an account, we keep the little that is needed to sign you in and to remember your bookmarks and your place in a shiur.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and there is no advertising or third-party tracking in this app or on this site.

What we collect

Without an account: nothing that identifies you. Our servers keep ordinary technical logs (such as the request and an approximate location derived from it) for security and to keep the service running, and we count how often a shiur is played, downloaded or shared. Those counts are totals for the shiur — they are not tied to you.

With an account: your email address, the name you choose to display, and a password that is stored only as a cryptographic hash — nobody at Kol Emunah can read it. We also keep your bookmarks and your listening position, so the app can offer to continue where you left off.

If you send us something through “Share your story”: your name, your phone number, your account email, whatever you write, and any voice note or file you attach.

If you allow notifications in the app: the reminder is scheduled on your own device. We do not build a profile from it.

Why we hold it

To sign you in and keep you signed in.

To show your bookmarks and continue-listening across your devices.

To answer you when you send a story, a question or feedback, and to decide — with you — whether material you send is used on the hotline or in the library.

To keep the service secure and working, and to understand which shiurim people find useful, from totals rather than from individuals.

Who else can see it

Two service providers process data on our behalf, under their own security obligations: Supabase (accounts, database, uploaded files) and Cloudflare (website hosting and audio delivery).

Nobody else. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or data brokers.

We will disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

What you can do

See and change your name, email and password in Settings.

Delete your account in Settings. That removes your account, your bookmarks and your listening history. A story you already sent stays with the team, because it may already have been acted on; write to us if you would like it removed as well.

Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to the address below.

Listen without an account at all — nothing on the public site requires signing in.

How long we keep it

Account information stays until you delete your account. Bookmarks and listening positions go with it.

Stories and messages you send are kept while the team is working with them and for a reasonable period afterwards.

Technical logs are kept briefly, for security and troubleshooting.

Children

Kol Emunah is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use Kol Emunah after that means the new version applies.
